Time tracking on tickets
Track billable effort per ticket with a live timer or manual entries, and see the running total as you work.
flyhelpdesk tracks the time you spend on each ticket, so you can bill accurately and understand where effort goes.
Use the live timer
- Open a ticket and click Start timer in the reading-pane header. The tracked total next to it starts ticking.
- Work the ticket. The timer keeps running even as you move around.
- Click Stop timer when you're done.
You can only have one timer running at a time. Starting a timer on a new ticket automatically banks the time on the previous one, so you never double-count.
Log time manually
For work you did offline — a phone call, a site visit — add the minutes by hand with an optional note describing what you did.
Billable by default
Every entry is marked billable unless you say otherwise, and the reading pane shows a running total (formatted like 1h 05m) so you always know where a ticket stands. Total time per agent also rolls up into Reports and each agent's profile.
Tips
- Get in the habit of hitting Start timer the moment you open a ticket — the auto-bank behaviour means switching tickets is safe.
- Use the note on a manual entry to record what the time was for; future-you (and the invoice) will thank you.
- Check Admin → Reports for total time logged across the team over any range.
